Major Congrats to Bob on a prize most well deserved.  Sweet justice.  Prize credibility salvaged.  Classical Elite Blacklisted no more.

The Driehaus is the most significant award in Architecture in the World in terms of prize, $200,000.

Stern was recognized “for his scholarship, his role as dean, and for his overall impact on the architecture of our time,” said jury member Paul Goldberger, the New Yorker’s architecture critic.

“Bob has brought classicism into the mainstream,” said Michael Lykoudis, dean of the Notre Dame School of Architecture and the chairman of the Driehaus jury

Robert AM Stern has never been awarded a Driehaus.   Why?

With a brilliant 40+ year record as architect, writer, and educator, few if any --it would seem-- could claim to be a more impassioned advocate for traditional, classical, and contextually sensitive architecture and urbanism.

...right?

'The Richard H. Driehaus Prize is awarded to a living architect whose work embodies the principles of traditional and classical architecture and urbanism in contemporary society, and creates a positive, long-lasting cultural, environmental and artistic impact.'

...classical elite blacklist??
